Perkins Local School District is proud to announce that it has received a gracious donation of $25,000 from The Cafaro Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Cafaro Co. that owns and operates the Sandusky Mall.

The Perkins Schools Board of Education on Wednesday, June 8, formally accepted the donation during its regular meeting. Board members thanked the Cafaro Co. for the donation to the school district, and thanked the company for its continued support of the Perkins Schools and Perkins Township community.

“We thank the Cafaro Co. for its unwavering interest and support in our community for many years,” said Perkins Schools Superintendent Todd Boggs. “It has been an honor to work with Anthony Cafaro Jr., the co-president of the Cafaro Co.”

The Cafaro Co.’s donation will be used for upgrades to restroom facilities at the Perkins High School athletic fields.

The Cafaro Co. currently is expanding its Sandusky Mall property by constructing a $13 million upscale, multifamily residential development. The development plans call for the construction of 126 two-bedroom deluxe apartments to be built on 17.5 acres currently used as a parking lot. The land is on the east side of the Hobby Lobby store.
