Eric Lapata is the newest member of the Perkins Local School District Board of Education. He was appointed to the board to fill a vacant seat in May 2020. He was re-elected in 2021.
Mr. Lapata, who attended Perkins Schools as a youth, is a 2004 graduate of Perkins High School and is co-lead pastor at The Chapel in Perkins Township.“It’s a huge humbling honor to come back and serve the schools that made such a difference in my life,” Mr. Lapata said.
He also is a graduate of Cedarville University near Xenia, Ohio, and holds a master's degree from Grand Rapids Theological University in Michigan. Mr. Lapata is married to Paula Lapata, and they have four children in Perkins Schools: Hudson, a 4th grader at Meadowlawn, Micah, a 2nd grader at Furry, Remi, a kindergartner at Furry, and Eden, a preschooler at Furry.
