We hope that you are well and enjoying the last couple weeks of summer break. We have been busy on the school front getting the buildings and grounds prepared for another great year. The Perkins Local School District is grateful and appreciates the support from our parents and guardians, faculty, and staff, and community stakeholders.
We will continue to strive for unsurpassed educational opportunities so every student may achieve their greatest potential.
Today, Monday, August 9, we are announcing our plans for instruction for the 2021-2022 school year and providing information about protocols and procedures, keeping in mind that we must be flexible if the situation dictates.
- We will proceed with in-person instruction while offering a remote option for students and families who may not be comfortable with in-person learning. We will be prepared to pivot to a remote learning option if needed or mandated. Contact tracing and quarantining will be employed through the Erie County Health Department in cooperation with our school district.
- Face coverings and masks will be a personal choice and not mandatory in the classrooms and throughout the facilities. We encourage caution and safety as in the past.
- Students riding buses must wear face masks per order issued by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
We did an excellent job last year as we navigated through an unfamiliar pandemic and we expect to do the same for this upcoming year, keeping a safe environment with cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting protocols.
We look forward to seeing our students on their first day back in the classroom.
